Two Sides to Every Story

By manipulating the number of suitable stars and lowering the numbers of stars that form into planets, it decreased the number of communicating civilizations in our milky way. By increasing the amount of suitable stars and stars that form to planets it increases the amount of possible communicating civilizations in our galaxy.

Black Holes

1) Jets of Gas, Accretion Disk, Event Horizon

2) Black hole is made by gravity and the gravity is so great in a black hole that once something is sucked in it can not return.

3) We observe the effects of the stars and gas that is close to one.

4) The radius of the event horizon around a black hole.

5) Einstein developed the equation that showed the speed of light, but it has been discovered that even objects moving at the speed of light can not escape a black hole.

James Webb Telescope

A) It measures wavelengths from .6-27 micrometers and is designed primarily to see infrared light but can measure some visible light as well.

B) It is a Prototype because it is not set to launch until 2013.

C) Light has not been collected by this telescope yet so they do not know how old the light will be that they collect.

D) It has a 6.5-meter primary mirror as well as several others throughout the telescope. CCD's are not used in this telescope.

Chocolate lab

Distance between the hot spots : 4cm
Wavelength : 8cm
Wavelength : .08 m
Frequency of the microwave : 2,500,000,000hz
EQUATION :c=2xf
Your calculated speed of light : 20,000,000,000cm/s, 200,000,000m/s

Escaping the Sun- Kiera and Abby

1. We didn't see a relationship between the number of layers and the amount of interactions

2. We found that the data was more accurate in the second simulation because it used a larger number of photons and when you used larger numbers your data is bound to be more accurate.

3. As energy increases the wavelength decreases. As the energy increases the number of photons detected somewhat decreases compared to the number of photons detected when the energy was closer to two.

Stellar Spectra

1. Absorption Spectra

2. Closer because when your closer to things they appear to move more than objects that are far away.

3. Time and Brightness

4. Core

5. Magnitude is based on distance and how bright a star is and intensity is how intense the light is that is given off.

Someday I hope to graduate high school and attend a college and maybe become a doctor and hopefully play softball somewhere.

Electromagnetic Radiation

Without CAT scan machines the doctors wouldn't have been able to find my Grandpa's brain tumor.

What is Up with Mercury

A. Mars rotation rate is slower than Earth's

B. Radio waves get weaker over time

C. Showed the way mars was rotating and spinning and that no sets of data are ever the same

Moons of Jupiter

1. The closer the moons are to Jupiter the more spikey and close-fitted the data is.
2. Because it showed the rotation that the moons did around Jupiter just like the planets rotate around the sun
3. Its the closest moon to Jupiter and it moves extremely fast
4. It explains the laws of planetary motion

Tunguska

I think that it was an asteroid that had blown up because

1. No pieces of a damaged UFO were found
2. The damage done could have easily been done by and asteroid
3. Because falling asteroids are something that happens quite often

Scaling the Solar System

1. If the sun was .25 inches in diameter and was located inside your room the planet of Saturn would be 21 feet away putting it right across from locker 269 and 285 about 5 feet from Patterson's room. Earth would be located two feet from your room. I believe this because Saturn is much farther away from the sun than Earth is.

2. If I were 3 years old on Saturn I would be 89 years old on Earth. The speed at which the planets rotate is different and days are longer on Saturn then they are on Earth.

3. I would weigh 212.8 lbs. on Saturn. Jupiter would make me weigh the most. Because it shows the force of gravity on different planets other than our own.

Constellations

I counted the following amount of stars in these constellations:

1. Ursa Major-6 stars

2. Ursa Minor-7 stars

3. Pegasus-7 stars

Approx. 667 stars all together
